Definition of Teruah
“… you have a rest, a remembrance of Teru’ah, a set-apart gathering.” — Leviticus 23:24
Yom Teruah is a beautiful day of rejoicing and singing before Yahweh! It is a time of celebration and praise!
But what is Yom Teruah?
And Yahweh spoke to Mosheh, saying, “Speak to the children of Yisra’el, saying, ‘In the seventh new moon, on the first day of the new moon, you have a rest, a remembrance of Teru’ah, a set-apart gathering. You do no servile work, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to Yahweh.” — Leviticus 23:23-25

Teruah is a war cry and an impulsive shout of joy! It is an alarm, a call to action and a shout of triumph and victory!
Gesinius’ Hebrew-Chaldean Lexicon has this to say about teruah:
(1) prop. Tumult, loud noise, specially — (a) joyful noise, rejoicing, joyful acclamations with which the people receive the king, — (b) a warlike cry, cry for battle, to raise a war-cry
(2) the sound of a trumpet, the first of the seventh month which was announced with the sound of trumpet, sacrifices offered with sound of trumpet.
Yom Teruah (day of trumpets) is the day where we rehearse the coming of Yeshua, the king, to wage war against Satan!
And the seventh messenger sounded, and there came to be loud voices in the heaven, saying, “The reign of this world has become the reign of our Master, and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever!” — Revelation 11:15
Message of the Day
Yom Teruah is a rehearsal of the return of the Messiah, upon whose return trumpets sound to herald the King and commence the ultimate battle between Righteousness and sin.
